Get great results from day to day, is not something that happens a lot when you work with children at risk, in many cases it takes years to see results and that is precisely what is happening in Nuevos Pasos. Today after ten years of uninterrupted work towards the most disadvantaged children, we want to rejoice with you all. This is a special bulletin, because it commemorates an exceptional event: ten years of continuous work that has been made possible because of you, your support, your prayers and all those who have visited Peru and Bolivia in these ten years; more than 400 people.
Today we can see in perspective and thank God for the fruit, for the work done, for the learning and consistency of many men and women who far from giving up are helping us, both those working in the field as those that support us financially as well as those who daily encourage us.
Our goal today remains the same as these ten years; rebuild the damaged lives of children by the poverty and all that this implies. We do these task giving hope and unconditional love, teaching children to return to faith in themselves and in adults, remain steadfast, helping them to have resilience lives.
No doubt, working with children at risk is like rebuilding a house that once was hit by a hurricane of troubles. All this work needs a very special cement to hold and solidify their lives and this is, with no doubt, the faith in God, faith that we teach and preach.
Finally, let me remind you a quote than I wrote in the previous bulletin, which was “It’s not enough to love the children, they must realize that they are loved” We want to ask you to continue believing in us and this work, don’t stop helping us so we can be your hands, so these children will realize that they are loved and would feel the love of God towards them.

Every time we send a report, what we want from Nuevos Pasos is to keep you informed of the work we perform but also to participate, raise awareness and educate those we read about the need to help children at risk.
But ... What children at risk? To understand in a simple, I will say that childhood is not risk anyone that his or her personal, family or social development is not guaranteed integrated in all or some of the growth areas, thereby endangering their future or her own life. When we intervene in the different cases, children whose situation need to be addressed urgently and immediately, for example when we talk about children in extreme poverty, in situations of sexual abuse, labor exploitation and also those who are victims of war or who have been affected by major disasters, these are the children that we and other associations usually work. But we want to return to the previous definition also understood that the closer children can be children at risk.
There are always children who need the help and good to us all and we must ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow with optimal development in all areas of growth. When we think a child at risk can be our neighbor, we realize that children need is urgent and enormous. Each and every one of us and can take care of children who are around us, not only because it is a mandate or an obligation, also because it is the smartest way to invest in our society and make it fairer. We end this note by recalling that today because of the international economic crisis, there are 34 million more poor people on earth, this should give us some perspective on the seriousness of the problem, a problem that affects many more people low-income families thus around us, there are many more children at risk in recent years, many more than we want or we can see. Do not forget.

Not enough to love children, they must
they realize they are loved

volunteers that we received in Peru and Bolivia. In total so far this year we have had
already 23 men and women from different parts of Spain and of different faiths, all of
them thanks for your help and contributions that enrich our work.

Hello friends,
Cordial greetings from the team of Nuevos Pasos in Perú and Bolivia.
Here you have a short report to help you know about the progress of Nuevos Pasos. We hope you enjoy it, but above all, we hope it serves you to pray in a more specific way.
There are still many things to do and many places to get to and children to reach, but we continue towards the goal, always convinced that little by little, day by day, if we don't lose encouragement and faith, we'll become the answer to many of those children who have no one to help them.
In Peru we go forward, we believe more than ever that this year we will receive a double portion. If last year we could work and help children at risk, this year we could get beyond; the fact that yesterday we were able to start new classes in the kindergarten of San Carlos in Laredo is an example that encourages us to believe this. We still have much to be done in order to provide good service to children; we need equipment, more furniture and we also need to finish some remaining things in construction, however, there we are, come wind or high waters, knowing our labour is not in vain. I send you a pic of some of the children who have started this year with us.

The challenge is to take care of all children in San Carlos, giving them food and integral education, we ask you to keep us in your prayers in order to reach our goals. I'm taking the opportunity to congratulate all the leaders, mentors and aid workers who have made this dream come true, and of course, all the institutions and friends who have given us financial support, THANKS to all. |

We ask you to pray for a new project in the same area in Banzer. A door has been opened to begin a kindergarten for extremely poor children but we want to act with wisdom from above. A local community would cede us some buildings and as a result we could be able to work with not only children but also with both parents and community leaders. |
